House robbers struck at a residence along Springs Road in Rand Collieries during the early hours of Monday morning.
The robbers, at least two men, gained access to the property around 3am.
They woke up the home’s occupant by shining a torch in his face.
The robbers threatened to shoot the man if he moved.

He was forced to lie on his stomach and the robbers bound his hands and feet with shoelaces.
After restraining the victim, the robbers searched the room and helped themselves to firearms from the safe.
They then looted the rest of the house and fled.
After detecting no noise or movement for some time, the victim untied himself and found he had been robbed of other valuables, including cellphones and clothing.
A case of house robbery is under investigation by the Brakpan SAPS.
