Taxi and car collide

Medics assessed the patients and found that 14 people had sustained minor serious injuries.

Fourteen people were injured after a taxi and a light motor vehicle collided at the Heidelberg Road (R23) and Elsburg Road (R554) intersection in Brakpan on Sunday evening

“ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 6.17pm to find the taxi lying on its side on the side of the road,” said Russel Meiring from ER24.

“The light motor vehicle was found parked on the side of the road.”

Medics assessed the patients and found that 14 people had sustained minor serious injuries.

The patients were treated for their injuries and the seriously injured provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
