WATCH: A Brakpan landmark gone

This was confirmed to the Herald by roadhouse management this afternoon.

It is indeed a sad day for Brakpan as a landmark which has become synonymous with the town has served its last Dagwood and chips.

Operating since 1955, the Casbah Roadhouse has officially closed its doors and a decision was made to move the famous sign to other premises.

The Casbah Roadhouse has for many years been a popular gathering place for young and old, and many Brakpan residents, as well as visitors from all over the country, have fond memories of the local eatery.

Also unique to the roadhouse are the iconic large concrete Coca Cola bottles.
