Prepare for power outage

The Ekurhuleni Energy Department will put in every effort to minimise the outage period.

A planned power outage is scheduled for large parts of Brakpan and surrounding areas on February 1 and 2.

This is due to electrical equipment repairs to be carried out at the Van Eck Park, Vulcania 33kV and Brakpan Central 33kV substations.

With the exception of Brakpan North, the whole of Brakpan, Langaville and Geluksdal will be without electricity from 10pm on Saturday, February 1, until 10am on Sunday, February 2.

The Ekurhuleni Energy Department will put in every effort to minimise the outage period.

No guarantee can be given that the power will remain off the entire time specified or that the deadline will be met to finalise the planned maintenance work.

Work will, however, continue until the power is restored.

All electrical networks and equipment must be regarded as being electrically alive at all times while the work is conducted.

The City of Ekurhuleni apologises for any inconvenience caused.
