Driver stabbed and robbed

A case of armed robbery is under investigation.

A male motorist was lucky to escape with his life after he was attacked by two men, one of whom was armed with a knife, in Brakpan North.

The incident took place around 4pm on Friday afternoon, last week.

Two men climbed into the victim’s vehicle, a blue Mazda bakkie, as he stopped at a stop sign along Oval Road.

One of the robbers held a knife to the victim’s neck and instructed him to drive into the veld.

Once they had come to a stop, the victim threw his car keys into the grass and attempted to flee from the vehicle

He was assaulted and stabbed in the shoulder.

The victim’s hands and feet were bound after he again attempted to run away.

The robbers fled with two cellphones, a laptop, tools, shoes, reading spectacles and other valuables.

The victim sustained a deep cut to his shoulder and injuries to his head.

A case of armed robbery is under investigation.
