K9 Unit sniffs out drug dealer

The drugs are valued at R86 800.

A 44-year-old Nigerian national was arrested in Brakpan on Thursday, last week, after he was found in possession of multiple drugs.

Members of the EMPD’s K9 Unit were conducting a crime prevention operation in the area and stopped at a popular entertainment establishment along Wenden Avenue, where the drugs were discovered in an outside room.

The man on the premises was arrested.

Officers and sniffer dogs found 198 small packages of nyaope, 19 small and medium plastic bags of crystal meth, as well as 21 small ziplock bags and three plastic bags of dagga.

Cash to the value of R4 550 was also seized, and the drugs are valued at R86 800.

The suspect was charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances at the Brakpan Police Station.
