Tip-off leads to arrest of female drug dealer

Members of the unit were recently approached by concerned members of the community.

A woman suspected of being a drug dealer was recently arrested by members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit on Wednesday, last week.

Members of the unit were recently approached by concerned members of the community regarding a woman allegedly dealing in narcotics.

Acting on this tip-off, the officers proceeded to an address in Currey Street and found the 35-year-old woman in possession of narcotics.

Upon raiding the building, the DEU members came across two ziplock bags of crystal meth, four plastic packets of khat, eight dagga ‘pokes’ as well as small and large ziplock bags of dagga valued at R3 000.

A portable digital scale and R1 432.50 cash were also confiscated.

The woman was detained at the Brakpan Police Station on charges of possession and dealing in illicit substances.
