Giving back to the community

Shoppers can show their support by placing their till slip in the box of their choice.

Recipients of Sherwood Pick n Pay’s Community Board Project recently received their prizes.

The supermarket and sponsor Klipdrif Braai gave away shopping vouchers valued at R3 500 to three schools in Brakpan.

Boxes featuring the names of local organisations/schools are on display in the store and shoppers can show their support by placing their till slip in the box of their choice.

Every month, the three organisations with the most till slips win.

The first prize was a shopping voucher valued at R2 000 from Sherwood Pick n Pay.

This was won by Laerskool Brakpan-Oos, and will be used to help families in need.

The second prize, a R1 000 shopping voucher courtesy of Klipdrif Braai, was won by Felicitas School.

The voucher will go a long way in assisting the school’s feeding scheme.

The third prize, a R500 shopping voucher sponsored by Klipdrif Braai, was claimed by Laerskool Die Arend, and will also be used to help those in need.

Adèle van Schalkwyk, deputy principal at Laerskool Die Arend, received the third place prize, a R500 shopping voucher courtesy of Klipdrif Braai, from Lorraine Malandisa (Sherwood Pick n Pay frontline supervisor) and Mike Koumbounis (Sherwood Pick n Pay joint owner).
