A 21-year-old man found in possession of dagga by members of the EMPD Equestrian Unit near the Brakpan Swimming Pool on Saturday was arrested after he admitted to law enforcers he intended selling the drugs.
According to EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD members were conducting crime prevention patrols on horseback at parks, dams and places of public interest in Brakpan when, at around midday, they sighted an edgy youngster carrying a backpack by the public swimming pool.

“The man confessed to officers before the actual search commenced that he was carrying dagga in the bag and his intention was to sell it,” said Mokheseng.
EMPD members opened the backpack and uncovered 13 ziplock bags of dagga with an estimated street value of R3 250.
The man was taken to the Brakpan Police Station and charged with possession with intention to deal in dagga in a public place.
