Caxton Radio’s new home at Emperors Palace

The station focuses on sports, business, current affairs, community success stories, music, local profiles, finances and much more.

Caxton Radio has found a new home at Emperors Palace.

Listeners will now have the pleasure of listening to Caxton Radio live from their Emperors Palace studios.

Caxton Radio is a local online streaming radio station playing on Caxton Local Media news websites across the City of Ekurhuleni.

It was launched in March 2018 with the help and partnership of Paul Rotherham and Caxton Local Media, and is now streaming from 11 Caxton local news websites.

Also at the celebration were, back (from left): Samantha Keogh (editor, Springs Advertiser and African Reporter), Thelma Koorts (editor, Brakpan Herald) and Lana O’Neill (editor, Benoni City Times). Front: Leigh Hodgson (news editor, Germiston City News), Christa Smit (editor, Kempton Express and The Tembisan), Carina van der Walt (editor, Alberton Record) and Marietta Lombard (editor, Bedfordview and Edenvale News).

“Within the first 13 to 14 days since the launch on March 1, we have had about 98 000 streamers,” said Paul Rotherham, Caxton Radio station manager.

Those numbers have multiplied to an average of 500 000 a month.

Rotherham said the dream of having a live streaming radio station started eight years ago, and he thanked Caxton for helping him make the dream a reality.

The content is lively, fun and energetic with music from the 1980s, mid 1990s, to the current.

The station focuses on sports, business, current affairs, community success stories, music, local profiles, finances and much more.

Caxton Radio is here to connect Caxton local newspapers readers with numerous business owners and to expose community events, social functions and other various initiatives in Ekurhuleni.

“We are excited about the venture we’ve entered into with Caxton Radio and look forward to hosting renowned radio personality Paul Rotherham and other presenters at the satellite studio,” said Clive Tavener, Emperors Palace operations executive.
