Fleeing driver arrested

The metro police tried stopping the Mazda, but the driver continued driving recklessly.

A driver’s attempt to evade the EMPD resulted in his arrest.

The EMPD Community Policing and Public Order Policing units were conducting routine patrols in Tsakane on Saturday when, at around 2pm, they sighted a white Mazda driving recklessly in the area.

The metro police tried stopping the Mazda, but the driver continued driving recklessly.

“After a few minutes, the Mazda was cornered and the driver handcuffed,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.

“The 29-year-old male driver of the Mazda was detained at the Tsakane Police Station with charges of inconsiderate driving and fleeing from police registered against him.”
