Repeat offender arrested again

The man has on two previous occasions been arrested by the DEU for peddling dagga.

The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) on Friday, June 14, arrested a suspected dagga dealer in Brakpan during a special early morning operation.

The man has on two previous occasions been arrested by the DEU for peddling dagga.

Five hundred grams of dagga valued at over R500 was confiscated from the 56-year-old who was arrested along Station Road around 7am.

“The man was first arrested in September 2017 and then in October 2017,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.

“He pleaded guilty on both occasions.”

The suspect was detained at the Brakpan Police Station and charged with possession and dealing in dagga.

He is expected to appear in the Brakpan Magistrate’s Court today (Tuesday).
