According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (May 29 to 30):

• Shoplifting: 1

Arrests:

• Shoplifting: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1

Hijacking:

• The driver of a Toyota Hilux bakkie was hijacked along Heidelberg Road (R23) on Tuesday.

Travelling to Tsakane, the victim was forced to pull over at about 10am when the occupants of a blue Volkswagen Golf threatened him with firearms.

The victim was pulled from the bakkie and forced into the Golf.

He was driven to Randburg and let go.

Business robbery:

• A bottle store in Prince George Avenue was robbed by a lone gunman yesterday (Wednesday).

The incident took place at about 4.30pm and the robber fled with cash, liquor and a cellphone.

Burglary:

• West Street, Sonneveld (vacant property).

The break-in took place on Monday.

Stolen: Two stoves and electrical fittings.

• Hastings Avenue.

The home was broken into on Monday.

Stolen: Bicycles.

• Lemmer Road, Vulcania (business).

The burglary occurred on Tuesday.

Stolen: Car tyres and mags.

Theft out of motor vehicle:

• A laptop and other valuables were stolen from a car parked at Mall@Carnival yesterday.
