The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (April 1 to 2):

Cases reported:

Arrests:

• Theft: 2
• Shoplifting: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1

Armed robbery:

• A woman was robbed at knifepoint by a lone robber.

The incident took place yesterday morning (Monday) at about 3.45am at the corner of Elsburg and Heidelberg roads, near Carnival City.

After chasing the victim, the robber fled with her handbag, which contained her work uniform, toiletries, a cellphone and some cash.

Burglary:

• Voortrekker Road (business).

The burglary took place on Saturday.

Stolen: Cellphones and cash.

• Abramowitz Street, Brakpan North.

The home was broken into on Sunday.

Stolen: Water taps, a toilet seat, a shower head and other fixtures.

Truck theft:

• A truck was stolen from a company in De Kock Street, Vulcania, on Saturday.

Truck batteries, a car radio, a ladder and other valuables were also stolen from the business.

Attempted theft of motor vehicle:

• Two men attempted to steal a silver Volkswagen Golf from an address along Louis Leipoldt Street in Dalpark Extension Nine around 3am this morning (Tuesday).

The thieves were disturbed and fled empty-handed.

Damage to the vehicle is estimated at R20 000.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• On Saturday, batteries were stolen from several trucks parked at a company along Lemmer Road in Vulcania.
