Operation ‘Okae Molao’ was recently rolled out by law enforcers in the Ekurhuleni District Cluster policing area, of which Brakpan is a part.
The operation was held in conjunction with police from surrounding stations, metro police and officials from the Department of Home Affairs.

The operation resulted in the arrest of several wanted suspects, the confiscation of illegal mining equipment, the seizure of drugs, the closure of illegal shebeens and other successes.
As part of the operation, a roadblock was held along the N17 highway in Brakpan on Friday.
Fines to the value of R4 400 were issued.
