Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Two cars parked at an address along Graaf Road in Rand Collieries were broken into.

The vehicles’ radios were stolen, as well as a GPS and a car battery.

* A TV was stolen during a burglary at a business in Denne Road, Vulcania.

* Two homes were burgled.

Cellphones, a DVD player, an amplifier and a sports bag were stolen from a residence along Jones Avenue, while laptops, a home theatre system, a TV and a DVD player were stolen from an address along Wildevy Street in Dalpark Extension Six.

* A trailer was stolen from a Voortrekker Road business.

• Saturday – Jewellery, a TV, a laptop and cellphones were stolen from a home in Fish Street, Sallies Village.

* A man was robbed of his money, bank cards and cellphone by two men at the corner of Voortrekker Road and Prince George Avenue.

The incident took place at about 3pm.

* A white Volkswagen Golf 6 was stolen from Mall@Carnival.

• Sunday – Two thieves made off with a cellphone and a set of car keys after robbing a man along Victoria Avenue.

The victim was walking towards Station Road at about 7.20am when the pair grabbed him and searched him.

* A gang of four men robbed a Northdene Avenue shop.

The group entered the shop around 1.45pm and threatened the owner and a customer at gunpoint.

They fled with cigarettes, cash and an airtime vending machine.

* Two residential break-ins occurred.

These took place at homes along Hendrik Street in Sunair Park and Bottlebrush Street in Dalpark Extension Six.

A TV was stolen from each residence.

* Cash and cigarettes were stolen during a robbery at a petrol station along Heidelberg Road (R23), near Dalpark.

Two men, both of whom were armed with guns, entered the store at about 8.30pm and held up the cashier.

The balaclava-clad robbers fled on foot.
