The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (March 11 to 12):

Cases reported:

Arrests:

House robbery:

• Four robbers wielding axes robbed an elderly Dalpark couple in their home yesterday (Monday).

Hijacking:

• A white Toyota Quest was recovered in Daveyton last night shortly after it was hijacked in Leachville.

The victim stopped at about 7.30pm to buy airtime at a shop along Kaapmuiden Street and was returning to the vehicle when he was held at gunpoint by two men.

A struggle between one of the hijackers and the victim ensued and the victim was struck on the head with a firearm.

The hijackers drove off in the Toyota after the victim ran away.

Burglary:

• Porter Avenue.

The break-in took place on Friday.

Stolen: Kitchen appliances, groceries and other household items.

• Selbourne Avenue.

The home was burgled on Friday.

Stolen: Electrical tools.

• Boundary Road, Brenthurst.

The residence was broken into on Sunday.

Stolen: Cellphones and cash.

• Denne Road, Witpoortjie (business).

The burglary occurred on Sunday.

Stolen: Two generators and a trailer (type not specified).

Theft from motor vehicle:

• On Sunday, a car parked at an address along Lapping Street in Brenthurst was stripped of its wheels.
