Take a journey into Brakpan’s past

Learn more about the town's history.

The 1922 Rand Revolt, also referred to as the Rand Rebellion, Red Revolt or the 1922 Miners Strike, will be the topic of a talk at the Brakpan Mines Bowling Club on Tuesday, March 12.

The talk will be presented by the Brakpan Museum NPC, a heritage entity dedicated to the preservation and conservation of heritage resources and archival material in Brakpan, and is intended to promote public awareness about the history of the town, which is celebrating its centenary this year.

The Brakpan Mines Bowling Club is a local historical landmark and is the oldest operational bowling club in Gauteng.

The lecture starts at 5pm and will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

There is no cover charge.
