Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Two break-ins took place.

A home along Gerrit Maritz Avenue in Dalview was burgled of jewellery, laptops and a TV, while electrical wiring was stolen from a house in Mynhardt Avenue, Minnebron.

* A Dalpark resident was robbed in the driveway of her Rooihout Street home.

The victim and her passenger were confronted by two gunmen as they pulled into the driveway around 1.15pm.

The robbers ran off with the victim’s jewellery and house keys.

* A business in Craven Street, Brakpan North, was robbed at gunpoint.

Two robbers entered the premises at about 5.10pm and fled with cash, cellphones and laptops.

• Saturday – Two bakkies were stolen.

A silver GWM Sailor was stolen from Voortrekker Road and an orange Ford Ranger was stolen from Carnival City.

* A car parked at an address along Melkhout Street in Dalpark was stripped of its wheels.

• Sunday – No priority cases were reported at the time of publication.

Other cases reported:

• Thursday – A TV and a stove were stolen from a Kitzinger Avenue business.

* A woman waiting for a taxi along Airport Drive in Dalpark was robbed of her handbag by a lone thief.

The incident took place at about 9.40pm and the bag contained a cellphone and other valuables.
