Two men were killed when the vehicle in which they were travelling rolled along Heidelberg Road (R23) in Brakpan this morning (Thursday).
Four other people were critically injured in the crash.
“At around 6.15am, a rescue team from the Brakpan Fire Station was alerted to a single motor vehicle crash and immediately responded to the scene,” said William Ntladi, media liaison for Ekurhuleni Emergency Services.
“On arrival, the lifeless body of the driver was found trapped behind the steering wheel and the other body was outside next to the vehicle.
“The four other patients were lying across the scene.”

Medical treatment was rendered to the injured before transportation to hospitals.
One male patient was airlifted to the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital in Johannesburg and three others were transported to the Sunshine Hospital in Benoni for further medical care.
“Rescuers had to use the Jaws of Life to recover the deceased driver from the wreckage,” said Ntladi.
The road was temporarily closed for the duration of the operation and the scene was handed over to EMPD officers for further investigation.
