According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (February 6 to 7):

Arrests:

• Theft: 1
• Speeding: 3
• Sexual assault/rape: 1
• Trespassing: 5
• Business robbery: 4
• Shoplifting: 1

Hijacking:

• The female driver of a blue BMW was robbed of her vehicle last night (Wednesday) by men posing as police officers.

While travelling along Heidelberg Road (R23), near Withok Estates, the victim was pulled over by the occupants of a white BMW with blue lights.

The incident took place at about 7.30pm.

The hijackers threatened the woman with a gun and forced her into their car.

She was driven to a secluded area and let go.

The hijackers also took the woman’s bank cards, driver’s licence, cellphone and some cash.

• Business robbery

A security guard on duty at a business in Denne Road, Witpoort Estates, was tied up during a robbery on Tuesday evening.

Two men, one of whom was armed with a gun, confronted the guard around 11pm.

The robbers fled with truck tyres and other valuables.

Three suspects were later arrested.

Armed robbery:

• A pedestrian was robbed at gunpoint by two men at approximately 10.30am yesterday.

The victim was walking along Goods Road when the robbers confronted him.

They ran off with the victim’s cellphone and money.

Burglary:

• Porter Avenue.

The home was burgled yesterday.

Stolen: Power tools.

• Hannah Street.

The burglary occurred yesterday.

Stolen: A cellphone, TV and pellet gun.

• Hannes Visagie Street, Withok Estates (business).

The break-in took place on Tuesday.

Stolen: Cash.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A white Kia bakkie was stolen from Rifle Street in Huntingdon, Brakpan North, this morning (Thursday).
