The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (January 23 to 24):

Cases reported:

• Possession of drugs: 4
• Malicious damage to property: 2
• Reckless driving: 1

• Residential burglary: 4
• Armed robbery: 1

Arrests:

• Common robbery: 3
• Speeding: 2
• Residential burglary (warrant of arrest): 1

Hijacking:

• A man was robbed of his vehicle along 12th Road in Witpoort Estates at about 10am yesterday (Wednesday).

The victim was hijacked of his white Fiat Strada after arriving to meet up with a man from whom he wanted to buy a car.

Four men threatened the victim and his passenger at gunpoint and also robbed them of their cellphones.

Armed robbery:

• Two gunmen robbed the driver and crew of a delivery van in Vulcania.

The incident took place at approximately 1.30pm yesterday at an address along Uranium Road.

The robbers, who were travelling in a green Toyota Yaris, took the van’s cargo, which reportedly contained boxes of cellphones.

They also helped themselves to the victims’ cellphones.

Burglary:

• Lower Road, Minnebron.

The home was burgled between January 17 and 22.

Stolen: A quad bike, bicycle and computer monitor.

• Pythian Street, Brakpan North.

The break-in took place yesterday.

Stolen: A TV.

• Kaapmuiden Avenue, Leachville.

The residence was broken into on Tuesday.

Stolen: A TV.

• Sudwala Avenue, Leachville.

No further information was provided.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A Toyota Etios was stolen from an address along Queen Avenue yesterday.

• On Tuesday, a green Gomoto motorcycle was stolen from Escombe Avenue.

Theft out of/from motor vehicle:

• Tools were stolen from a bakkie parked at the corner of Fern and Sudwala avenues in Leachville.

The theft took place on Tuesday.

• A vehicle parked at an address along Boyd Road in Brenthurst was stripped of its wheels yesterday.

• Wheel caps were stolen from a vehicle parked at Carnival City on January 16.
