Improved matric results for Brakpan High School

The class of 2018 achieved a total of 46 bachelor passes and 50 diploma passes.

Brakpan High School has maintained a culture of a good matric pass rate with the school showing an improvement of results over the last three examinations with a 5.4 per cent increase in the 2018 results.

“We have attained a 95 per cent pass rate for the 2018 National Senior Certificate examinations and this shows that with good management, governance and also commitment from educators, things can only get better,” said school principal Lucky Nkopane.

Thash Pillay was the top learner, obtaining four distinctions.

“Our mathematics and science results continue to impress, while our tourism, computer applications technology, history and accounting results boast a 100 per cent pass rate and no less than 20 distinctions,” explained Nkopane.

“The above results can be attributed to the holistic approach of instilling discipline and a sense of value and encouraging learners to participate in extra and co-curricular activities.

“The year 2019 promises to be the year where this school claims back its position amongst the top schools in the Gauteng East District.

“I wish the class of 2018 all the best in their future endeavours and I have faith in the foundation that my educators have given them.

“I know they will make a positive contribution in a variety of careers that they will embark on.”

  • Registrations for Saturday School start on Saturday, January 19, and classes will resume on Saturday, February 1.
