Municipal pools closed over festive season
Closed due to the limited number of officials available during this time.
Community swimming pools in Ekurhuleni will be closed during the festive season.
Ekurhuleni MMC for Community Services, Clr Dora Mlambo, explained this was a council decision.
“The swimming pools will be closed due to the limited number of officials, including life guards, available during this time, as most have taken leave,” she said.

“As such, this may pose a challenge in adhering to basic health and safety requirements at the facilities.”
Mlambo added that the municipality acknowledges the inconvenience the closure may cause, but the health and safety of bathers is the council’s first priority.
Municipal pools will close at 6pm tomorrow (Friday) and will re-open on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.
