Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:

• Friday – The body of an unidentified man was found along 15th Road in Sallies Village.

Brakpan police were called to the scene at around 6.45pm and found the deceased near the roadside.

An attempt had been made to conceal the body with concrete blocks.

The deceased was wearing a grey top, black trousers and white tekkies.

A case of murder is under investigation.

* Six residential burglaries were reported.

The targeted homes were at addresses along Slangberg Street in Leachville, Skamel Road in Dalpark Extension One, Nossob and Sterkbos streets in Dalpark, Prince George Avenue in Brenthurst and Hamilton Avenue.

Tools, jewellery, electronics and various other household items were stolen.

* Television sets were stolen from a business in Nossob Street, Dalpark.

• Saturday – No priority crimes were reported at the time of publication.

• Sunday – TVs, tablets and a laptop were stolen from a home in Morris Place, Kenleaf.

* A grey Ford Ranger was stolen from Carnival City.

* A Toyota Hilux parked at Carnival City was broken into.

It is believed the culprit/s attempted to steal the vehicle as its ignition had been tampered with.

Other cases reported:

• Thursday – A TV was stolen from a residence in Taft Avenue.

• Rape: 1
• Drunk driving: 10
• Housebreaking and theft: 2
• Malicious damage to property: 1
• Possession of stolen goods: 2
• Possession of stolen motor vehicle: 2
• Assault GBH: 2
• Shoplifting: 1
