The EMPD were out in full force in Brakpan over the long weekend and arrested several motorists for drunk driving and speeding.
According to EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, nine drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following roving roadblocks in the area.
Six motorists driving over the speed limit of 80km/h along the R23 in Dalpark were nabbed for reckless and negligent driving.

These drivers were caught travelling at speeds between 117km/h and 139km/h.
In addition, more than 40 traffic fines were issued in Brakpan between Saturday and Monday.
These were for offences including driving without a licence, moving violations and expired registration and licensing.
