Suspected drug dealers nabbed in Brakpan CBD

The men, who are both foreign nationals, were detained at the Brakpan Police Station and were due in court this week.

The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit arrested two suspected drug dealers in the Brakpan CBD on Saturday.

The suspects were found in possession of crystal methamphetamine, as well as cash believed to be proceeds from the illicit business.

The drugs, cash and cellphones confiscated from the first suspect.

One man was arrested at a bar along Kingsway Avenue and the other at the corner of Prince George and Kitzinger avenues.

“On raiding the bar, the metro police members arrested the first suspect at 1.16pm and found 19 packets of crystal methamphetamine on this person with a street value of R9 000,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.

“R960 in cash was also confiscated from the 39-year-old suspect.

“The second suspect, who is 40 years old, was found in possession of two ziplock bags of crystal methamphetamine and he was arrested at 1.30pm.

“Cash amounting to R375.50, suspected to be from drug-dealing, was also confiscated from the suspect.”
