Be part of Brakpan’s centenary celebrations

Brakpan turns 100 years old next year.

Next year sees the centenary of the town and a public meeting to discuss this milestone will be held on September 1.

Interested members of the community, religious groups, business and commercial, civic, as well as sports and entertainment organisations are welcome to attend the meeting, which will be held in the Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre on the corner of Escombe Avenue and Bedford Street.

The meeting is organised by the Brakpan Museum Npc (Non-Profit Company) and will commence at 10am until 1pm.

The Brakpan Museum Npc is a community support heritage entity that promotes preservation and conservation of heritage in previously disadvantaged communities.

Items on the agenda include a brief history of Brakpan and the old location, structure and timelines and the formation of a steering committee.
