The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (August 21 to 22):

• Use of motor vehicle without owner’s consent: 1

• Possession of stolen motor vehicle: 1
• Attempted burglary: 1
• Fraud: 1
• Business robbery: 1
• Theft: 3
• Theft of motor vehicle: 3 (one Boksburg case)
• Theft from motor vehicle: 2
• Intimidation: 1
• Common assault: 1

Arrests:

• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Housebreaking and theft: 1
• Theft: 2

Business robbery:

• Five men robbed a shop along Petrea Avenue in Leachville at around 2.30am this morning (Wednesday).

One of the robbers was armed with a gun while the others were brandishing knives.

They threatened the shop’s owner and fled with cash, cigarettes, cellphones and some clothes.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• Two motorcycles were stolen from an address along Northdene Avenue on Monday.

One of the bikes was recovered yesterday (Tuesday).

• A white Toyota Etios was stolen from the corner of Park Street and Kitzinger Avenue yesterday.

The vehicle was recovered in Dawn Park.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• Wheels were stolen from two cars in separate incidents yesterday.

The thefts took place at adresses along Mitchell Crescent in Brenthurst and Kirkland Street in Dalview.
