Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A Minnebron woman was robbed by three men.

The victim was confronted by the trio when she arrived at her Koos Vorster Avenue home at around 12.20pm.

One of the men kicked the victim and they fled with her handbag.

The bag was recovered, but the victim’s cash and bank card were stolen.

• Saturday – A woman was raped along Germains Avenue by a man known to her.

The victim and her attacker were walking home together at around 5.30am when the man overpowered her and raped her.

• Sunday – No priority cases were reported at the time of publication.

Other cases:

• Wednesday – A business in Van der Walt Road, Dalview, was broken into and burgled of computers and laptops.

• Thursday – Cash, a TV and a laptop were stolen from a home in Roux Street, Brakpan North.

* TVs, a laptop, sound system and other valuable household items were taken during a break-in at a residence along Devon Road in Dalview.

The following arrests were made in Brakpan over the weekend:

• Possession of drugs: 4
• Drunk driving: 3
• Possession of stolen property: 1
• Business robbery: 1
• Shoplifting: 2
• Dealing in drugs: 1
