A suspected serial rapist and murderer is being sought by local police.
Tokologo Mbonani (21) was arrested in Brakpan last year after leading police to the body of one of his alleged victims.
He is believed to be behind a spate of rapes and murders in the Brakpan and Benoni areas.
According to Capt Pearl van Staad, spokesperson for Brakpan police, the National Prosecuting Authority is now appealing the court’s decision and a warrant of arrest has been issued for Mbonani.

At the time of his arrest last year, Mbonani had more than one place of residence and was staying in the Plastic City and Location Road informal settlements.
It is believed he returned to Brakpan following his release.
