Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – The occupants of a house in Kingsway Avenue were robbed by two men.

The sleeping residents were awakened at around 3am by the intruders, who demanded cash and guns.

After tying the victims up, the robbers ransacked the house and fled with cash, cellphones, jewellery and clothing.

* A car parked at an address along Mitchell Crescent in Brenthurst was stripped of its wheels.

* Three homes were burgled.

Residences along Station Road, Gerrit Maritz Avenue in Dalview and Walkden Avenue in Brakpan North were targeted.

Bicycles, gardening equipment, jewellery, a laptop, TV and a cellphone were stolen.

• Saturday – A home in Dennis van der Byl Street in Minnebron was burgled of a TV.

* A black and red Gomoto motorcycle was stolen from Station Road.

• Sunday – No priority crimes were reported at the time of publishing.

The following arrests were made in Brakpan over the weekend:

• Domestic violence: 1
• Malicious damage to property: 1
• Theft: 1
• Common robbery: 1
