The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (May 9 to 10):

Cases reported:

• Common robbery: 1
• Theft: 7
• Residential burglary: 3
• Shoplifting: 1
• Common assault: 1
• Theft from motor vehicle: 1 (Pomona case)
• Possession of drugs: 2
• Assault GBH: 1
• Malicious damage to property: 1

Arrests:

• Drunk driving: 1
• Possession of drugs: 2
• Shoplifting: 1

Common robbery:

• A woman was robbed of her handbag along Etosha Avenue in Dalpark Six.

The victim was waiting for a taxi at around 5.30am on Monday when two men approached her.

One of the men grabbed her bag and the pair ran off.

The bag contained cash, a cellphone, personal documents and her house keys.

Burglary:

• Orpen Avenue, Leachville.

The break-in took place on Tuesday.

Stolen: Two cellphones.

• Pitt Street, Brenthurst.

The home was burgled yesterday (Wednesday).

Stolen: A TV, cellphones, jewellery and other household items.

• Park Street.

The burglary occurred yesterday.

Stolen: Several pairs of shoes.
