Pamper your fur child

No one loves a treat more than our pets.

Everyone loves to be pampered, and that includes our furry friends.

They’re always there to listen to us, love us, and snuggle with us.

Here are some ways to spoil your pets and show them just how much you love having them in your life.

Homemade treats

Why not bake a healthy homemade treat for your dog or cat to show them that you appreciate them? After all, no one loves a treat more than our pets.

Here is a recipe to make your pet some yummy treats.

You will need:

•A silicone mould.

• One cup cooked, finely diced chicken.

• Half a cup of cooked and mashed rice.

• Three tablespoons rice flour.

• One tablespoon parsley.

• One egg.

What to do:

Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius.

Mix all the ingredients together and stir well. Spoon the mixture into silicone moulds. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes, until tops are golden brown. Allow to cool and remove from moulds. Store the treats in fridge.

Schedule a good grooming

It’s true most pets don’t always look forward to bath time, but a positive grooming experience can actually leave your pet not just looking great, but feeling great as well.

You can hire people to come to you. Plus, your daily or weekly brushing routine is actually a great way to bond.

Get a dog walker

Hiring a dog walker may be a good way to make sure they’re getting plenty of exercise and companionship (both human and canine) while you’re working long hours.

Schedule regular check-ups

Truthfully one of the best ways you can spoil your cat or dog is to make sure they live a long, healthy life.

Nothing keeps them on a healthy track more than annual visits to the vet and making sure they’re up-to-date on all of their vaccines.

Get a cosy bed

Dogs and cats spend much of the day sleeping, so let them do it in style and comfort.

Whether it’s a big bed with lots of blankets or an elevated cot, there are tons of sizes and styles to choose from.

If you have an older pet with arthritis, a heated bed will help soothe joints and make nap time that much better.

Give lots of praise and petting

Praise and affection is a great way to show your pet how much you care, but dogs do prefer physical contact over verbal praise.

It also provides positive reinforcement for good behaviour and is a good way to connect.
