Opportunity
Caxton East and South are looking for a sub-editor to join their hard-working team at their Boksburg branch.
Responsibilities:
n Sub-editing all print and online editorial copy to ensure accuracy of facts, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
n Crafting headlines and captions.
n Ensuring contentious issues are thoroughly checked before publication.
n Proofing content on hard copy.
n Capturing changes on layout.
Requirements:
n Three years’ experience as a sub-editor or senior journalist.
n Excellent writing and language skills.
n Meticulous, organised and deadline driven.
n Good understanding and knowledge of media law and ethics.
n Fluent in English.
n Own transport and valid driver’s licence.
n Candidates with newspaper or magazine experience preferred.
n Familiar with InDesign and content management systems.
