“Sector police members were conducting patrols during the early morning hours on Voortrekker Road when they noticed a white Quantum minibus and a silver Toyota Yaris parked alongside the road,” said Brakpan police spokesperson Capt Pearl van Staad.

“Nothing was found during a search of the minibus, but the Yaris yielded one revolver with ammunition, a 9mm Norinco pistol and four AK47 rounds.”
Police discovered both vehicles were stolen – the Quantum from Wattville in Benoni and the Yaris from Evaton near Vereeniging.
“The suspects were arrested and detained at the Brakpan Police Station,” added van Staad.
