They demanded the keys to the car, a white Mitsubishi owned by one of the victims (no further details about the vehicle were provided).

The victims were driven to a secluded area where they were frogmarched into the veld.

After several hours, they were taken to an area near the Dawn Park Police Station and let go.

Other valuables inside the car included a cellphone and a laptop.

• The driver of a white Volkswagen Golf 1 was robbed of his vehicle at the corner of Blade and Kaapmuiden streets in Leachville last night (Wednesday).

The victim was parked on the side of the road at about 7.40pm when four hijackers travelling in a Hyundai i10 or i20 pulled up next to him and threatened him at gunpoint.

A woman, who is known to the victim, was crossing the street and witnessed the incident.

She screamed and the hijackers grabbed her and bundled her into the Golf along with the victim.

They were robbed of their cellphones and other valuables and then driven to Germiston where they were let go.

Armed robbery:

• A man was robbed of a large sum of cash shortly after withdrawing it from a bank at Mall@Carnival yesterday.

After leaving the mall at around 1pm, the victim arrived at an address along Coert Steynberg Street in Van Eck Park.

As he stopped his vehicle, he was approached by a man who threatened him with a gun.

The robber told him not to move and grabbed the bag containing the money and the victim’s car keys.
