Help local beauty realise her pageant dreams

A young woman from Flamingo Ridge has been selected as a brand ambassador for Miss Eagle 2018.

Christabel Ntando Magaisa (24), who is a student at African Academy in Boksburg, hopes winning the pageant will help her realise her dreams of making a positive impact in the community.

She explained the pageant is all about woman empowerment, woman leadership and a combination of beauty with brains and purpose.

“We have fun activities geared towards our personal development and growth and we get to engage with celebs,” said Christabel.

“We also get involved in helping charities in our communities, learn the art of modelling, fashion and beauty, as well as building the brand.”

She told the Herald the pageant has motivated her to come out of a “complacent comfort zone”.

“I have been empowered by being able to help people in need, protecting our planet and giving back,” she said.

Christabel hopes to start a foundation for victims of human trafficking if she wins the title.

“Human trafficking is the largest rising crime internationally,” she said, adding that the foundation will focus on education and awareness.

Christabel requires public votes to get her to the semi-finals of the pageant.

To vote for her, SMS Ntando to 35334 (SMS costs R3, free SMSes and SMS bundles do not apply).

The crowning will take place in October at the Sandton Convention Centre.
