Rape:

• A woman used pepper spray to fight off a rapist last night (Thursday).

The victim was raped by a taxi driver who picked her up at the corner of 17th Road and Ergo Road in Witpoort Estates at about 6.30pm.

She was the only passenger in the taxi – a white Toyota Quantum.

Instead of driving to her destination in Germiston, the driver took her to a veld and forced himself on her.

As he was raping her, the victim managed to reach inside her handbag and grab the pepper spray.

She sprayed him in the face and escaped from the taxi.

Armed robbery:

• A man was robbed and assaulted along Kinaboom Avenue in Leachville yesterday.

The victim was walking to work at around 11.55am when he was attacked by a man with a gun, who pistol-whipped him and stole his cellphone.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• Tyres and rims were stolen from a car parked at an address along Prince George Avenue in Brenthurst on Wednesday.

Burglary:

• New Kleinfontein Road, Leachville.

The home was burgled yesterday.

Stolen: A TV, tablet and clothes.
