Following a successful launch of the Fit For Free Aerobics Programme three years ago, the metro seeks to formalise fitness and aerobics clubs under one formal structure.
A fitness and aerobics stakeholder engagement session will take place in Boksburg this Saturday (February 17).
The engagement is open to all active community fitness and aerobics clubs.
“The formal structure is envisaged to provide support and guidance on clubs’ operations and activities,” said metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
“This will result in a healthier and active community.
“We believe it will go a long way in addressing lifestyle related illnesses in our community.”
The meeting starts at 8am in the council chambers at the Boksburg Civic Centre.
Clubs interested in attending must register with Mbali Gumbi no later than today (Monday).
Gumbi can be contacted on 011 999 3219 or via email at Mbali.Gumbi@ekurhuleni.gov.za
