Arrests:

• Theft of motor vehicle: 1

Armed robbery:

• A taxi passenger was robbed of his cellphone, laptop, cash and other valuables on Monday.

The incident took place along 12th Road in Vulcania at about 6.35pm.

Shortly after boarding the taxi, a silver Toyota Quantum, the victim was threatened by one of the other passengers, who was armed with a gun.

The man pointed the firearm at the victim and demanded his belongings.

The victim was forced out of the taxi in Dalpark Extension One.

Robbery:

• A pedestrian was robbed by two men on Tuesday.

The robbers confronted the victim as she was walking along Voortrekker Road at about 2.30pm.

One of them grabbed her, while the other searched her bag.

The robbers fled with the woman’s cellphone and purse.

Truck hijacking:

• The driver of a delivery truck was hijacked along the N17 highway, near Dalpark, yesterday (Wednesday).

The driver pulled over at around noon after being alerted to “sparks” under the truck by the occupants of a Peugeot.

The Peugeot also pulled over and three men alighted the vehicle.

As the driver was checking under the truck, one of the men grabbed him and forced him in the Peugeot .

He was robbed of his cellphone, keys and other valuables, and was driven to Vosloorus where he was dropped off near a vacant school.

The truck was recovered last night and a suspect was arrested.

Burglary:

• Slangberg Street, Leachville.

The break-in took place on Tuesday.

Stolen: A laptop.

• Railway Street, Dalview.

The burglary occurred yesterday.

Stolen: Clothes and shoes. A suspect was arrested.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• Acton Avenue in Dalview was the scene of a car theft and an attempted car theft at about 7pm on Tuesday.

A white Volkswagen Polo was stolen, while a white Toyota (model not provided) was broken into.

The Toyota’s ignition was damaged.

• An attempt was made to steal a white Toyota double cab bakkie from Carnival City on Tuesday.

The vehicle’s ignition was tampered with.

Theft out of/from motor vehicle:

• Cash was stolen from a car parked along Kitzinger Avenue on Tuesday.

• Tyres and rims were stolen from two vehicles parked at an address along Gerrit Maritz Avenue in Dalview, yesterday.

• Two batteries were stolen from a truck parked along Airport Drive in Dalpark on Tuesday.
