Driving home at around 4pm on Saturday afternoon, the EMPD head of research and development received information about a suspicious-looking metallic blue BMW 320i in Dalpark Extension 11.
“He reacted swiftly to the information by immediately making his way to the given location of the vehicle,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.
“Seemingly, the culprits got cold feet and abandoned the vehicle.”
Preliminary investigations revealed the vehicle was recently stolen in Alberton.
“Fortunately the particulars of the owner were found and he was elated when contacted about the recovery,” added Kgasago.
The case was registered at the Brakpan Police Station and investigations are underway.
