Hijacking:

• Two men hijacked the driver of a white Ford Focus in Duncan Street, Brenthurst, last night (Tuesday).

The victim, who was visiting a friend at the address, was confronted by the hijackers at around 8.30pm.

They pointed a gun at him and made him lie on the ground.

After taking the victim’s keys, the hijackers got into the car and sped off.

Business robbery:

• A supermarket in Station Road was robbed by a group of about seven men yesterday.

The robbers, one of whom was armed with a brick and another with a knife, entered the shop at around 3.30pm and assaulted staff members.

They fled with two 10kg bags of rice, a cellphone and cash.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A Mitsubishi truck (colour and model not provided) was stolen from Mall@Carnival, yesterday.

Theft out of/from a motor vehicle:

• A toolbox was stolen from a truck parked along Springs Road, in Denneoord, on Monday.

• A motorist was robbed of his cellphone while stationary at traffic lights along Heidelberg Road (R23), near Mall@Carnival.

The incident took place on Saturday at around 7am.

A thief grabbed the victim’s phone through an open car window and ran away.
