The local pool, and others in Ekurhuleni, failed to open on September 1, as is customary, due to a delay in the supply of pool cleaning chemicals.
According to Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality spokesperson Themba Gadebe, some of the pools went through an extensive renovation process in preparation for the swimming season.
The entrance fee at the Brakpan Swimming Pool is R10 per person.
