Business robbery:

• Cash, cigarettes and a cellphone were stolen during an armed robbery at a shop along Scott Street, in Brenthurst, yesterday (Wednesday).

Six robbers, some of whom were armed, entered the store at around midday and demanded money from a cashier.

Before the robbers fled, they tied up the cashier and locked him in a back room.

Rape:

• A woman was raped in a shop along Station Road on Tuesday evening.

The victim arrived at the shop at around 7pm to be interviewed for a job.

Her prospective employer took her to a room with a mattress, where he told her to undress and then raped her.

• After being robbed of her possessions, a woman was dragged into the veld and raped, yesterday.

The victim was walking along Location Road, near Brakpan North, at about 5.30pm, when two men approached her.

One of the men was armed with a knife and he pointed it at the victim, demanding her belongings.

She handed over her cellphone and cash, but the armed man grabbed her and pulled her into the veld, where he raped her.

Hijacking:

• The driver of a white Toyota Hilux bakkie (model not provided) was hijacked yesterday.

Travelling along the R23 (Heidelberg Road), near Dalpark at around 10.30am, the driver was forced to pull over after the driver of a white panel van tried to force him off the road.

After stopping, he was confronted by a group of men armed with guns.

The hijackers forced him to lie down and tied his hands with shoelaces.

After driving around with him for about two hours, the hijackers took the victim to a secluded area and let him go.

• Three men were abducted and robbed in Leachville, on Tuesday evening.

The trio were putting up posters along New Kleinfontein Road at about 8.30pm, when they were confronted by two men armed with guns.

The victims were robbed of their cellphones, cash and bank cards.

They were then forced into the back of their car (colour, make and model not provided) and driven to a property in the Vosloorus/Spruitview area.

They were kept at the address until about 2.30am, when they were then driven to Van Dyk Park and let go.

A case of hijacking has been opened.
