Crime reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (July 13 to 14):

Cases reported:

• Hijacking: 1
• Robbery with firearm: 1

• Theft from motor vehicle: 1

Arrests:

• Assault GBH: 1
• Armed robbery: 2
• Shoplifting: 1

Hijacking:

• The driver of a white bakkie (make and model not provided) was hijacked by bogus policemen, on Wednesday.

Travelling along the R23 (Heidelberg Road), near Dalpark at around midday, the driver noticed a white Volkswagen Polo behind him, flashing its lights.

The victim pulled over, thinking it was the police, and the Polo stopped behind him.

A ‘policeman’ approached the victim and asked for his driver’s licence.

The man was joined by another male, who then pointed a gun at the driver.

He was forced into the back of the bakkie, where his hands were bound and his head was covered.

The hijackers drove off with the victim and took him to a secluded area, where they then put him in the Polo.

He was driven to the Phefeni Railway Station, in Soweto, and let go.

The victim was also robbed of his cellphone.

Armed robbery:

A fast food delivery man was robbed along Kingsway Avenue, yesterday (Thursday).

Burglary:

• Rifle Street, in Huntingdon, Brakpan North.

The home was burgled on Wednesday.

Stolen: A TV and microwave.

• Afrikaner Road, in Dalview.

The break-in took place yesterday.

Stolen: Two TVs, a camera, laptop, iPad, clothes and portable hard drive devices.

• Rangeview Road, in Dalpark.

The property was broken into yesterday.

Stolen: A TV and jewellery.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A Puzey scooter (model and colour not provided) was stolen from an address along Bertram Street, in Brakpan North, on Wednesday.

• A silver Volkswagen Polo was stolen from Mall@Carnival, last night.

The vehicle was recovered in Pretoria.

Theft out of/from a motor vehicle:

• A laptop was stolen from a car parked along Moepel Street, in Dalpark.

The vehicle was broken into on Friday, last week.

• Batteries were stolen from a truck parked at business premises in Lemmer Road, Vulcania, on Wednesday.
