Crime reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (June 29 to 30):

Cases reported:

Burglary:

• Lemmer Road, in Vulcania (business).

The break-in took place on Wednesday.

Stolen: A laptop and office equipment.

• Duncan Street, in Brenthurst.

The property was burgled yesterday (Thursday).

Stolen: Two TVs and a laptop.

• Zeeman Street, in Brenthurst.

The home was broken into yesterday.

Stolen: A laptop, cellphones and cigarettes.

Theft from/out of a motor vehicle:

• A car parked along Station Road was broken into and the radio was stolen.

The incident took place at about 8.30am, yesterday.

A suspect was arrested and the radio was recovered.

• Cellphones and cash were stolen from a car parked at the corner of Bedford Street and Voortrekker Road, yesterday.

The theft took place at around 1.30pm.

• A battery was stolen from a bakkie at the corner of Voortrekker and Station roads, at around 4.40pm, yesterday.

Armed robbery:

• A woman was robbed of her cellphone by two men, on Monday.

The victim was walking near Rangeview Road, in Dalpark, when the two robbers confronted her.

One of the men pointed a sharp object at her and demanded her cellphone.

The robbery took place at about 9.50am.

• The driver of a bread delivery truck was abducted in Leachville.

The victim was travelling along New Kleinfontein Road yesterday, when he pulled over at about 10am to check the truck.

As he went to the back of the vehicle, the driver was confronted by a man armed with a knife.

The armed man held the weapon to the victim’s stomach and pushed him into the back of truck, where his hands and feet were bound with rope.

The robber then drove off in the truck.

A passer-by alerted police to the incident and the driver was rescued.

Two suspects were arrested.
