Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Five burglaries were reported.

These took place at addresses along Loerie Lane, in Anzac, Mitchell Crescent and Aldred Street, in Brenthurst, Tenth Road, in Withok Estates, and Mkhankwa Village, in Witpoort Estates.

Shoes, clothing, a portable radio, groceries, jewellery, a games console, cash, tools, a DVD player and a TV were stolen.

* A white Nissan Sentra was stolen from the Sherwood Shopping Centre, in Brakpan North, at about 6.30pm.

• Saturday – A residence in Mkhankwa Village, Witpoort Estates, was burgled of cash.

* Two cars were stolen.

A white Nissan Sentra was stolen from Kingsway Avenue.

The owner parked the vehicle at about 2pm and discovered it was missing at around 10pm.

A Volkswagen Golf 6 was stolen from Mall@Carnival, between 4.30pm and 8.15pm.

• Sunday – A business situated along Second Road, in Sallies Village, was broken into.

While nothing was stolen, a door was damaged.

Other:

• Thursday – Two residential burglaries were reported.

A home in Lester Road, in Brenthurt, was burgled of a cellphone, cash, two tablets and an expensive wristwatch, and a TV, a sound system and a bicycle were stolen from a residence in Athlone Road, Dalview.

* A section of copper pipe was stolen during a break-in at a business along Kingsway Avenue.
