Robbery:

• Two armed robbers made off with cash from the Denne Road toll gate along the N17 highway, on Wednesday evening.

The pair confronted two cashiers at gunpoint at around 7.30pm and demanded money.

The robbers took a large sum of cash and fled on foot.

• A tranport company situated along Lemmer Road, in Vulcania, was robbed by four men on Thursday morning (yesterday).

An employee who sleeps on the premises was awakened at around 1.30am by barking dogs.

He got up to investigate and was confronted by four armed men, who grabbed him and told him to keep quiet.

The men attempted to steal batteries from two trucks, but were unsuccessful and ran off.

It was found that tools had been stolen from a shed on the premises.

• A woman was robbed of her handbag along Prince George Avenue shortly after 6am, yesterday.

The victim’s handbag was snatched by two men.

The bag contained cash – which the victim had just withdrawn at an ATM in the CBD – and personal documents.

• A man was robbed of his cellphone at the corner of Prince George Avenue and Kingsway Avenue.

The victim told police he was walking home at about 6.30pm, yesterday, when he saw the pair with another man known to him.

The men “seemed to be up to something” so the victim approached them and asked what they were doing.

Two of the men then started to hit and kick the victim.

They took the victim’s cellphone and ran off.

• A man was robbed by three men at the corner of Prince George Avenue and Victoria Street, this morning (Friday).

The man was overpowered and assaulted by the trio at about 1am.

The robbers took the victim’s cellphone and cash, and fled.

Burglary:

• Dinghy Road, in Dalpark (burglaries were reported at two separate addresses).

Stolen: A television set from each property.

• Goods Road (business).

Stolen: Tools, car spares, tyres and rims.

The items were recovered and two suspects were arrested.

• Graaf Street, in Sunair Park.

Stolen: A lawnmower and weed-eater.

• Colliery Road, in Sunair Park (vacant property).

Stolen: Taps, door locks, wall plugs and electrical distribution boards.

• Victoria Avenue.

Stolen: Electrical equipment, clothing, jewellery, ornaments and bedding.

• Mimosa Street, in Larrendale.

Stolen: Two television sets, a digital camera and a racing bicycle.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A white Volkswagen Fox was stolen from Wenden Avenue.
