He was seen getting into a white Nissan (model unknown).

The homeowner found the main driveway gate had been derailed and the front door was damaged.

• A man was arrested last night in Brenthurst for the attempted robbery of a shop along Scott Street.

Two men, one of whom was armed with a knife, attempted to rob the store at 7.45pm.

They threatened the store’s owner and demanded money.

The robbers were forced to abandon their plans, however, when the owner and his brothers put up a fight.

The pair ran out of the shop and the victims gave chase.

Three other men standing outside the shop, who are believed to be the robbers’ accomplices, also ran off.

One of the men was caught and handed over to police.

• Six men robbed a security guard on duty at a transport company along Fourth Road, in Witpoort Estates.

The guard saw the men jumping the wall at about 2.20am yesterday.

One of the men pointed a gun at the guard while another searched him, taking his two cellphones, money and other valuables.

They told the guard they wanted to steal a truck, but fled without taking any vehicles.
